I wish to thank you for organising Anna's placement in Spain.  It has been a wonderful experience and opportunity for her. The family she stayed with looked after her very well. We really appreciate everything that you and Local Coordinator have done and the school and family.  Anna has learnt a lot.

Galicia placement
We had many trips with our school, to Santiago de Compostela, Ourense, … With my host mum we went on many excursions in Galicia and last weekend we went to Coimbra. I went to Porto with my sister and I really liked it; it is super pretty there. Lars really liked being in Gondomar. He has made many friends and was welcomed by his family and his colleagues, so saying goodbye to Spain was not easy for him. In July there will be an exchange between his Spanish school and a nearby German school. Lars was given a few days off from school because soon he will see his Spanish friends again and go out with them. We picked Lars up and then traveled around Spain for two more weeks. Having a German guide who spoke perfect Spanish was of course an awesome thing for his non-Spanish speaking parents. Lars is looking forward to sharing his experience with others. A big THANK YOU for the informative chats, the preparation event and of course for the complete organization and support at every moment.

Our Local Coordinators

We are well aware of the the fact most of our students are minors. Therefore, our Local Coordinators (LCs) need to be ready to assist them with any issue  anytime. This would not be possible without  a great deal of motivation, experience and also a labour of love. We count on different profiles of professionals who have at least three things in common:  an unlimited availability, a passion for education and being a part of mission of a cultural exchange and its positive impact on our society.

We strictly monitor all the types of feedback that can be provided through our system by both students and coordinators. The Local Coordinators meet with students and families personally at least every other month. iE holds regular meetings with our coordinators and work on updates on our procedures, ways to improve our services and the programs in general. They generally assist two meetings per year, one in our main office and the other in their area.
Our society changes, our Local Coordinators make our world a better place at every step.

Our Host families

Our families are of different types of structure. They provide a loving and supportive environment and their main motivation is a cultural Experience and contact with a student who is ready to see the world from a new perspective.

They will generally have a flexible attitude, but a thorough set of rules has to be always followed.
Special diet and food allergies are always considered thoroughly.

Although iE Spain always makes the effort to give any applicant a chance, students should not suffer from diseases which will require a special assistance by the host family on a frequent basis.

We know issues will always take place. Therefore, our families receive an in-house preparation and know they can contact our team anytime.

Spain is very proud its food and there should be no doubt they there is a great variety, and a healthy trend can be followed very easily.

One can find a great taste in a simple way, be it a bowl of Spanish olives or almonds, a slice of cured ham, a portion of Spanish omelets, fish and seafood in thousands of recipes. Spain supplies the world with quality fruit and vegetables.

Only a stroll around any local market is a gastronomy and social event at the same time.

Sports events are very important in Spain.

World top athletes in many disciplines compete at world famous events such as tennis, moto GP, soccer, swimming, basketball and many others.

Placement Areas

palacio real de madrid

Madrid is a very safe capital city full of modern and historical sights. It is proud of its 3 world famous museums, 4 soccer clubs in “La Liga”, concerts, festivals, theatre, arts scene, royal scale and state-of-the-art parks.
In the Madrid region, both local inhabitants and tourits may breath fresh air in national park and reserves in the nearby mountain ranges. Even if the weather conditions are not the best in the two ski resorts, you can get to ski indoors.

Most placements are in safe suburban/ residential areas within Madrid Region.

study in spain seville

Andalusia if full of life and safe at the same time. Its treasures are there thanks to a historical mix of cultures. Beautiful cities and villages are to be found not only on the 886 kms of coastline, but also in the interior.
No surprise that more than 320 sun days a year will bring anyone´s mood up. If one opens him/herself only a bit, he/she will enjoy the warmth in heart and soul of the local people. Flamenco is just an example of the vibrant culture.

We mostly place students in the Cádiz and Seville province.

estudiar en galicia

There might be places one expects to find in Spain. However, those charming old towns and forts in Galicia will surprise and leave a breathtaking memory.
Be it close to a splendid beach or in a “parador” on top of a mountain, there will be always a chance to taste Spanish to world top gastronomy.
No wonder “El Camino de Santiago” trail finishes here. Natural sights and hiking options are on hand all through the region.

Students should count on Galician being present as an official language apart from Castillian Spanish. Those students placed in Galicia will ideally have good foreign language skills and sound level in Spanish
